Digital signage is quickly jumping into the retail scene and becoming a critical marketing tool for store operators. As a matter of fact, in the Q1 2010 Digital Signage Expo Quarterly Business Barometer, the survey's respondents believe that the retail market will have the highest digital signage adoption growth among all markets this year. Based on these statistics, it is clear that retailers will need to start taking advantage of this rapidly growing trend to stay ahead of the game.  Here is the first of our two-part blog series that breaks down six reasons why we think digital signage is becoming a MUST for retailers.

As digital signage continues to increase its global growth, it's important to recognize what separates the best signage applications from the rest of the pack. We all know how valuable ease of use, advanced features and affordability can be, but without stability, those items become a moot point.  Is it the efficient coding of the application that makes it stable? Sure, that's one way to do it. However, there are going to be times when that's not enough. After all, a perfectly constructed house is only as strong as its foundation. At the end of the day, it comes down to the stability of the operating system and hardware the application is run on.  Over the past decade, Apple has set the standard for stability and has won over users and programmers alike.  In this blog entry, we provide three reasons why we think the Mac is the only system that should run your digital signage solution.
